LV Makes Custom Luggage Bags for BMW
Do you think you would want to accessorize your look any further if you are driving an expensive BMW or any other luxury car? Quite interestingly, the international luxury label, Louis Vuitton, has designed a set of luggage bags specifically for the German automaker's latest creation, the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid. As if BMW needed to get any more stylish!
Even though Louis Vuitton has come a long way from being a stylish leather luggage maker to a powerful global fashion house, it never left its roots as the trendsetters of luxury travel. Now the French label is preparing for a contemporary travel-inspired collection of books that would include the works of various artists.
The much-hyped tour will cover New York, Paris, London and Easter Island. The artists who are a part of the books will cover different cities. For instance, French Jean-Philippe Delhomme will cover New York, Congolese Cheri Samba will paint Paris, Japanese illustrator Natsko Seki will take London, and American artist Daniel Arsham will investigate the beautiful Easter Island.
Due to “The Art of Travel”, Louis Vuitton has joined hands with the luxury marque to create a stunning tailor-made set of luggage for the recently launched automobile. The French fashion house has decided to incorporate it into its luggage that includes two travel bags and other accessories. And this special line will exclusively be imbibed by the new BMW i8. The travel bags that also feature a business case and a garment bag are modified to perfectly complement the car's interiors.
The beautifully customized bags are designed using light, carbon-fibre textiles. They are adorned with Louis Vuitton's famous Daimen pattern. As far as the automobile is concerned, the BMW i8 is the German automaker's first plug-in hybrid vehicle and the second model from the BMW i brand.
It is a 2+2 seater that uses light-weight engineering technology. It impresses with its eclectic electric drive and latest combustion-engine technology. BMW i8 reaches a speed of 100 kmph in mere 4.4 seconds! It is also fuel efficient and gives a mileage of 47.6 kmpl.
The Senior Vice President of the BMW Group Design, Adrian van Hooydonk, says that both BMW and Louis Vuitton share a wholehearted appreciation of heritage and a commitment to constantly evolve. The use of CFRP in this sports-car is indicative of a technologically-supreme and feather-weighted construction.
Similarly, Louis Vuitton has showcased a belief that resonates with BMW's philosophy, aesthetics and designs. He also added perhaps that's why the fashion house's creations are just perfect for the German automaker's new automobile.
The luggage is equipped with dyed natural-leather handles. Out of the four travel bags, one is the large Weekender GM i8 and can be smoothly placed in the boot of the super-car. The gorgeous Louis Vuitton creation is available in the market for a whopping amount of Rs. 4.5 lakhs only!
The other bag called the “Garment Bag i8” is specifically for placing it near the rear shelf of the BMW i8. It costs around Rs 2.7 lakhs. The strapping Business Case i8 for laptops and other electronic gadgets fits well on the rear seats and it costs Rs 4.2 lakhs.
The tiniest bag out of the BMW i8 luggage series is the Weekender PM i8. It is created to rest atop the business case and is available at around Rs 4.07 lakhs. The impressive fashion line is available at all Louis Vuitton showrooms on request.
